Say hello to Sydney’s dedicated espresso martini bar! Created by Kansas City Shuffle owner Benny Sweeten, Tuexdo is housed within the old Cadbury Chocolate Factory in The Rocks and has made quite the impact on the Sydney bar scene since it opened.
It’s a pretty huge space with enough room for 200 people, but with the popularity of espresso martinis, there’s no doubt that it will be filled up pretty quickly on the weekends! Tuxedo serves up small plates (I have my eye on the maple bacon donuts and sticky plum pork belly bites) and craft beers, as well as the signature espresso martinis.
There are six on offer, including the classic, and a decaf Cadbury’s special – giving a nod to the building’s heritage – which consist of vodka, chocolate liqueur, chocolate, and milk. I’m not even a huge fan of coffee, but on the non-decaf side of things I’m desperate to try the Pirate Martini (rum, frangelico, choco liqueur, and espresso), and the Candy Man (vodka, mr black, amaretto, choc liqueur, and espresso).
For someone who doesn’t particularly like coffee, I’m actually desperate to visit and try out some of the martinis and small plates! Obvs I’ll report back to you all on Lux Life when I eventually have a free evening to test it out.
